Churches and abbeys
The Val d'Elsa and the near Val di Merse areas are full of the parish churches or abbeys situated just a few kilometres far from Bichi Borghesi where you can celebrate catholic ceremonies.
The beautiful Abbey of SS. Salvatore and Cirino is located in the small, ancient village of Abbadia a Isola (10 km) and it was a fundamental stage along of the Via Francigena pilgrimage route.
Also in the Val d'Elsa they are Badia a Coneo (10km) and the church of Santa Maria Assunta in within the walls of the castle Monteriggioni (15km).
In the Val di Merse are well-known the Pieve of San Giovanni Scola (Pievescola - 8km) and the spectacular Abbey of San Galgano and the circular church of Montesiepi famous for the sword stuck in the rock.
